Call for Hult Prize at Tohoku University 2020/2021

2020-11-5

Hult Prize is a business idea competition supported by the United Nations. We are planning to hold the 2021 Hult Prize On-Campus Program at Tohoku University. It will be held online on 30th January 2021 (Saturday).

This year’s theme is “Food for Good: Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change”. The objective is to propose an idea for a viable food enterprise that will impact livelihoods while strengthening communities, increasing incomes, feeding the hungry, creating jobs, and reaching 10 million or more people in a decade.

Please find a PDF explaining this year’s challenge in the link below:

At the Tohoku On-Campus Program, presentations will be held in English. Participants will talk about their idea for 6 minutes followed by 4 minutes of Q&A.

We are looking for groups of 3-4 students (of any nationality) to join the competition.

The winning team from Tohoku University will have the chance to attend regional finals in Tokyo and then overseas workshops where they can receive marketing training for 6 weeks. The 6 winning teams after this will then receive the chance to present the idea to the United Nations. The final students’ team will then receive a prize of US $1 million to bring the project to fruition.

We believe this is an excellent opportunity for Tohoku University students to share their innovative ideas and make a positive impact.

We held several online information sessions and workshops (in English and Japanese) starting from October, 12th to provide more information and guide the students who are interested in participating.
